Funky Fridays with Louie Quinn & Guests
Louis Quinn is comprised of established Vancouver jazz and blues musicians Doug Louie on piano and Dave Quinn on clarinet and saxophone. Each Friday the duo are joined by a featured guest vocalist ranging from soul to jazz to showtunes. As a trio, the group perform jazz, soul, blues & funk music from the 50s onwards for a fun show of both lively and intimate sets. All shows start at 730 and go till around 11pm. Louie Quinn with special guest Dutch Robinson
Dutch “Teddy” Robinson was born in New York City and made his way to Vancouver via Montreal. A gifted singer and producer, Dutch brings his impressive 5 octave range and soulful vocals to create a show that is both entertaining and inspiring. An original member of the Ohio Players, Dutch has played with such diverse acts as Cirque Du Soleil, Kid Creole & the Coconuts, & Mad Child. He has been nominated for a Grammy and played the role of Marvin Gaye in the musical “Dream of a Lifetime” to sold out audiences on London’s West End. Dutch promises to bring the party to this Funky Friday show that you won’t soon forget.

Louis Quinn with Special Guest Sibel Thrasher
Originally hailing from Ohio, Sibel Thrasher was influenced by the Baptist church choir to start at band at 9 years old with her two younger brothers. She later developed an interest in R&B and Jazz. She found her way to Vancouver via New York and Asia. She has toured internationally with the world famous Platters and has recorded with Long John Baldry, Donna Summers, and Etta James. Sibel’s repetoire ranges from jazz standards to gospel and R&B numbers. Her wicked sense of humour and joy of connecting with her audience combined with a long friendship with Louie Qunn are guarantted to make for a fun, intimate and thoroughly entertaining evening of song.

Louis Quinn with Special Guest Michael Vincent
A former teen-idol & recording artist, Michael Vincent was a regular singer and guest host on the popular Teen TV dance shows “Let’s Go” “Music Hop” and others. Michael made approximately 100 TV appearances, recorded with Polydor and Atlantic, and toured across the continent and around the world. Known for his soulful vocals, local promoters called him, “the voice”. Now reviving a longstanding musical career, Michael continues to bring audiences to their feet. His recording work with R&B Blues band BIG BLACK DOG saw the band nominated nationally for a SMOOTH JAZZ AWARD in 2007. Michael has just completed his latest solo CD entitled, THANK YOU -featuring 7 of his own originals and a few favorite covers.

Louis Quinn with Special Guest Alita DuPray
Sultry, smoky, sublime – three words that don’t begin to do justice to Alita DuPray’s voice. Alita’s voice projects from the depths of her soul and as a true improviser, she is known for her diversity. Influenced by a dynamic range of music from jazz and blues to reggae, rock, electronica and hip hop, Alita has shared the stage with Jim Byrnes, Diana Krall and Michael Buble. The late Linton Garner deemed her a dynamo of jazz.
